The main ingrediant in spray tanning is called Dihydroxyacetone or DHA. DHA is a colorless sugar that interacts with the skin cells located in the upper and outermost layer of your skin. DHA has been in use since the 60s when it was first approved for cosmetic application by the Food and Drug Administration.

Tans typically last 7-10/12 days. The porosity of each tanner’s skin varies and may affect result, evenness, and longevity of the tan. The more you moisturize the longer your tan will last.

You can extend the life of your tan by up to a few days by using a tan extending product, like our Infinity Sun BB Cream, which can be used as a gradual tanner or a tan extender.

If you have skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis it is best to perform a patch test before deciding to be spray tanned. We can perform a patch test for you and will do so if you have specific skin conditions. If we find that you can be spray tanned, it is important to apply a lot of moisturizer as part of your aftercare regime as the solution can have a drying effect on your skin.

Yes! The Infinity Sun solutions we use have a bronzing color agent made with crushed walnut shells (NUT ALLERGY ALERT) in the blend so that we can see where we are spraying to ensure even color all over your body. The bronzer will wash off with your first shower however the DHA will be developing underneath the bronzer over the next 8 to10 hours, so you will be extra dark before your initial rinse.

Tans typically take 30 minutes, walk in to walk out.

You will feel the solution on your skin and it may feel sticky, especially in a humid environment. We now offer a full body drying powder application add on that eliminates that post spray tan sticky feeling.

Our rapid development solution can be rinsed in 4-6 hours. I will send your personalized rinse and aftercare instructions when we connect before your appointment. Please wait until after your first rinse before exercising.

Yes! The more moisturized your skin is, the better your tan will look, last longer, and fade evenly. Unmoisturized skin can look dry, patchy and fade unevenly.

YES!! There is no SPF protection in any of the solutions on the market today. Just because your skin looks tanned does not mean that your skin is protected from harmful UV rays. You can still get sun-burned and sun damage your skin if you do not apply any protection.

We recommend waxing 24-48 hours prior to tanning. Shaving can be done the day of your appointment.

You should wear loose, dark cotton clothing, something easy on/easy off and not binding, with slip-on shoes so as not to leave any marks or rub the spray tan off your skin. You should also not reapply jewelry as it can scratch the tan.
We have disposable spa panties and nipple covers for your use, but whatever you are comfortable in or not in is up to you. Men are required to wear bottoms, we can roll up/down to lessen tan lines.

We do not do orange.

No! Many of our clients specifically enjoy our tans because they do not stink.

If you are attending a wedding, party, or other special event you should be spray tanned one or two evenings before the actual event – this allows time for the tan to fully activate and settle. You also have at least two showers to remove bronzers that may be left on the skin so as not to stain your garment for the event.

Our full body drying powder add-on finisher service not only helps eliminate that post spray sticky feeling, it protects the bronzer as the tan develops while leaving a beautiful light shimmer with a clean, tropical scent and reduces bronzer rub off onto clothes and sheets. You can get dressed immediately post spray and know your tan is protected from sweating. Drying powder is a hypoallergenic blend of cosmetic grade powder and micas and it is talc, paraben, nut, gluten, and cruelty free.

Yes. Most clients purchase Infinity Sun products from me during their studio visit. I also order products for previous clients who already know what they want. Available products include tanning mousse, tanning spray, BB cream, an applicator mitt, a back applicator mitt, and an exfoliating mitt.
